Last night in Milan we celebrated the launch of our newest cookbook in our Recipes & Wanderings series with Belmond: Campania: Recipes & Wanderings Across Italy’s Polychromatic Coast—a journey that traces the Tyrrhenian shoreline, climbs the slopes of Vesuvius, and winds through Campania’s charming little towns. Following our private dinner, featuring everything from Mozzarella di Bufala Campana to Pastiera Napoletana—prepared by the kitchens of Belmond’s Caruso hotel and served alongside its signature Caruso Gimlet—the celebration continued at DA ORIENT for our after party, where Lea Colombo’s photographs of Campania echoed in every hue and detail.
Campania: Recipes & Wanderings Across Italy’s Polychromatic Coast features essays by Elisa Carassai, Claudia Durastanti, and Margo Schachter, each offering a prismatic exploration of the region—its literary echoes, its beauty as seen through a local sensibility, and its history told through its ingredients. Alongside 21 classic dishes—many from Caruso’s executive chef and Naples native Armando Aristarco—the book includes three guest recipes from renowned chefs Nina Clemente, Bernardo Costantino, and Salvatore Giugliano. It all closes with a postcard afterword by celebrated Irish chef Darina Allen: an ode to the golden haze of its shores and the explosion of its flavours. Dive in!
